Holy Friday Good Friday

I wondered how I can prepare for Easter...

How should I feel.. ?
What should I do.. ?
Can I meditate on something?

I don't know what to do. I am very busy and I have a lot of things to do but I want to do something for the Lord. I ended up writing this entry.

We were so tired from the actual events that we really don't have the energy or time to sit down and write to reflect. Thank God for this job that pays me to sit in the office. I can make use of it to catch up on our blog.

Actually, so many things are happening in our church. The most recent one being our drama production. Words are inadequate. I was so happy to be a part of it.

This is our first drama production and a lot of hard work has been put into it. God took the little from us to make something big. How amazing it is to experience it not just by myself but with my beloved brothers and sisters. I felt like a team. I guess the most gratifying moment was hearing the very excited testimonies of the audience who came to church the next day to stand up and share how it touched them so deeply and how it was great to see the unity in diversity since our actors were Karen, Kachin, Chin, Burmese, Chinese, and Indian (?)! One of my friends, Johnny, a Buddhist, came 10 minutes before the play ended and he said he cried because Jesus was being crucified at that moment. I personally did not see the impact of this production going to this extent until they said it. I just followed and came to a great place. I really praise God for His grace.

The dialogues between characters were funny because one would speak in Burmese and the other would reply in Karen. It’s apparent that they don’t understand each other but they somehow do.

Hopefully,  next year would be better. I hope God will continue to bless this ministry and develop it more by the year.  All for the sake of preaching His  gospel and sharing what we know is truth. It will be our blessing if we are the ones to carry out His will. The theme of our church this year is "Cross Bearers" so I think we are really stepping up to become one.

There were some heated moments as well because it was really difficult to work with so many limits. First, people are busy. We don’t have enough people to begin with and the few people we had are extremely busy. Young people have exams, school and extra-curriculum activities which they sacrificed to make it to the rehearsals and the actual show itself. Adults have work they skipped. I know my pastor and his wife lost a lot of sleep because they spent nights painting the background, creating props, editing music files to fit the scenes, etc. In fact, I think my pastor did 10 men’s work. He was the painter, the stage manager, the director, the script writer, the coordinator, the everything. I told the young ones in my church, the difference between a leader and a follower is that the leader can see the future. He or she has a vision that we cannot see. And I think my pastor is one such leader. But in the end, the best thing I like about my pastor is that he is not in it for his glory; he is in it for God’s glory.

I feel so weird praising my pastor since I don’t like making anyone’s head big and we are not the very affectionate type. Haha.. But even if nobody knows, God knows how we love Him and serve Him. He knows it all. But I think sometimes I need to testify to edify and set facts straight.

“And they overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Revelation 12:11)
